1. Program description
The 21 Century Tax Partner and Client Messages program is a one-to-one, conversational program. Messages come from a member of our team to people who have opted in, mainly partner firm owners and staff who contact us, and clients we serve directly. We do not send mass text blasts or buy or rent phone lists. Messages may include:
- Responses to questions you send us
- Appointment and call reminders
- Updates on services, documents we need, and case status (never your full tax details)
- Occasional information about our services, if you agreed to receive it
2. How you opt in
You receive texts from us only after you give express consent, for example by:
- Checking the optional, unchecked text message box on our partner inquiry form at www.21centurytax.com/contact and submitting the form
- Agreeing in a signed document or engagement agreement
- Agreeing verbally on a recorded call, after we explain these terms
- Texting us first and confirming you want replies
Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of doing business with us. We never use pre-checked boxes or implied consent.
3. Message frequency and cost
Message frequency varies based on your inquiry or the services you receive. Message and data rates may apply according to your mobile plan. 21 Century Tax does not charge for text messages.
4. How to opt out
Reply STOP, CANCEL, END, QUIT, UNSUBSCRIBE, or STOPALL to any message at any time. We will send one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed, and then you will receive no further text messages from this program unless you opt in again. You can also opt out by emailing help@21century.tax or calling (714) 868-0887.
5. How to opt back in
If you opted out and want to receive texts again, reply START or UNSTOP, or tell us by email or phone. Opting back in re-enrolls you in the same program described above.
6. Help
Reply HELP to any message for help. You can also reach us at help@21century.tax or (714) 868-0887.
7. Privacy
We handle your information as described in our Privacy Policy. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are excluded from all information-sharing categories and will not be shared with any third parties, except the provider that delivers our messages, and only so it can provide that service.
Please do not text Social Security numbers, account numbers, or tax documents. We will give you a secure way to share them.
8. Supported carriers and delivery
The program is available on major U.S. wireless carriers. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery depends on your carrier, device, and coverage, and messages may not be delivered in every case.
9. Acceptable use
Our messages never contain illegal, misleading, deceptive, or harmful content, and you agree not to use this program to send such content to us. Both you and 21 Century Tax agree to follow applicable laws and recognized industry messaging standards, including the CTIA Messaging Principles and Best Practices.
10. Disclaimers and limits
The messaging program is provided “as is” and “as available.” We are not responsible for interruptions, delays, or failures caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including carrier or network outages, or for third-party services or content. To the extent the law allows, our liability related to the messaging program is limited to the amount, if any, you paid us for it. Text messages do not replace official notices from the IRS or a state tax agency, and nothing in a text message is tax or legal advice for your specific situation.
11. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the effective date above. If a change materially affects the program, we will tell you by text or email before it applies.
